(Greg Wayland, NECN: Boston, Mass.) - The Boston Globe reports that Massachusetts House Speaker Sal DiMasi received death threats in a letter and one was overheard in conversation.
State police felt the threats were credible enough to give DiMasi protection at his North End home.
Although the casino debate was not specifically mentioned in the threats, they came as DiMasi worked to block Governor Deval Patrick's casino plan.
DiMasi says the ordeal has been upsetting for his family.
NECN's Greg Wayland has the latest.
