(NECN: Amy Sinclair, Kennebunkport, Maine) - Republican Senator John McCain is in Maine this afternoon. This morning, McCain spent some time at the Bush compound and later he'll head to South Portland for an event at the Maine Military Museum.

McCain has two agenda items today: money and votes.

Also attending today were both Maine senators.

McCain also spoke with reporters about the high cost of energy. "We have to become independent of foreign oil," said McCain.
