(John Moroney, NECN: Hyannisport, Mass.) - Despite his brain cancer diagnosis, Senator Kennedy is reportedly thinking about taking part in a historic sailboat race on Cape Cod this Memorial Day weekend.
The annual race is between the Cape and Nantucket. This is the race's 38th year and Kennedy has been a participant for over 20 years. In 1989 in won first place and his boat is usually considered one of the strongest ones in the fleet.
Kennedy has been sailing in the waters off of Hyannisport all his life.
