Kerry visits Worcester on re-election campaign tour

(NECN: Jennifer Eagan, Worcester, Mass.) - He's facing his first re-election challenge in 20 years and today, Massachusetts Senator John Kerry visited Central Massachusetts as his re-election campaign makes its way around the state on its "Kerry on Your Corner" campaign tour.

Gloucester attorney Ed O'Reilly has picked up enough support to be on the September primary ballot.

"I'm very proud of my record, fighting for health care for children, fighting for the environment, heating oil assistance for the elderly and others. I think I have a record well worth running on," said Kerry.

Worcester County Sheriff snubbed Kerry when he announced his support for O'Reilly.

O'Reilly has challenged the Senator to a series of debates -- a call that has gone unanswered.
