(Alison King, NECN) - Meeting Friday with his economic advisors, Barack Obama intended to announce his blueprint for the Wall Street crisis -- but decided to hold off, pending more details from the Bush Administration plan.
Obama said, "I'll closely view the emerging details of their proposal. Make sure it includes some basic principles that I and my economic advisors discussed this morning."
John McCain, however, offered a plan and let it be known. "This morning I laid out my plans to solve these problems and grow the economy about the same time Senator Obama said that he's not going to offer a plan."
McCain laid out several recommendations for stabilizing markets before the Green Bay, Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce. By afternoon in Blaine, Minnesota, McCain was blasting Obama for his role in failing to stop the crisis.
"We've heard a lot of words from Senator Obama over the course of this campaign, but maybe this once he could just spare us the lectures and admit to his own poor judgment in contributing to these problems," McCain said.
McCain has focused in on Obama's relationship to former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson -- the man who stars in McCain's latest TV ad.
