(Lauren Collins, NECN: Boston, MA) - An estimated quarter million people turned out to hear Obama's acceptance speech at Grant Park. Many New Englanders made the trip to Chicago to witness history first hand.
Most were watching from home Tuesday night, as Barack Obama took the stage at Chicago's Grant Park, the first black man elected president of the United States.
Matthew Barr flew from Massachusetts to witness the event. He says it was you could feel this "explosion" of energy, excitement and positivity.
Vermonters Bill and Jane Stetson got tickets through work on his campaign. Others waited in line for hours to get into Grant Park.
