(NECN/ABC) - At this point in the democratic presidential race, the image the candidates
project reflects where their campaigns are. One is ahead, the other is
trying to stay in the game.
Last night Barack Obama donned the foreign policy cap Presidents wear at a
celebration of Israel’s 60th anniversary.
Obama:
"We know that more work needs to be done to secure lasting peace for the
Children on Israel."
Yesterday, when he met with undecided congressional superdelegates, Obama
Said he wasn't taking anything for granted.
Obama:
"Good to see you guys. I'm surrounded. But I appreciate ya."
But the front runner walked with the confidence that comes with being close
to clinching the nomination.
Last night Obama even suggested, with a majority of delegates, he might
Declare victory if he wins Oregon May 20th.
Clinton
"On June the 3rd, Montana and South Dakota and West Virginia will have the
Last word!"
Clinton continues to campaign in states that will hold primaries soon.
She is also hammering away at Obama's weakness among some white and working
class voters.
Some democrats believe she's doing more harm, including former Clinton White
House chief of staff Leon Panetta who spoke to San Francisco’s KGO TV.
Panetta
"She's put up a good fight and put up a good race, but I think there's a
time now where she needs to concede
and unify the party."
Officially, there are six nominating contests left before the democratic
Convention in August.
The last one is in Puerto Rico on June 7th.
ABC’s Viviana Hurtado has more.
