(NECN/KSTP) - After four days of celebration mixed with protests. The Republican National Convention has finally come to an end. It was a very busy time for police around the metro.
Over 800 people were arrested during the four days. That compares to just over 150 during the Democratic Convention in Denver.
The protesters had rallied at the state Capitol and then planned to march to the arena where John McCain was set to give his acceptance speech yesterday. But their permit had expired and
police in riot gear and on horses blocked their way.
At least 19 journalists, including two reporters from The Associated Press, were held by police. They were released after they given citations for unlawful assembly.
