(NECN) - Voters cast their ballots at polls across the country Tuesday. In Central Massachusetts, those supporting former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney were out in full force.
Republican representative Paul Frost of Auburn joined other Romney supporters Auburn High School. He says Romney will be the most well rounded candidate capable of handling any crisis the nation faces. Inside the Auburn polling location, some Republican voters said Romney is their man.
Others said they were leaning towards Romney but were conflicted up to the last minute – debating between him and Senator John McCain.
Some Massachusetts Republicans are squarely behind the Arizona Senator. They think he is an American hero with great leadership abilities.
The leading Republican candidates were campaigning up to the last minute on Super Tuesday. McCain was in New York City with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Romney visited West Virginia then arrived back in his hometown of Belmont, Massachusetts to cast his vote.
As of Monday, polls showed Romney ahead in Massachusetts while polls on Super Tuesday, show McCain in the lead. Romney supporters hope the former Governor will take the state.
NECN’s Danica Pecirep has more.
