| May 17, 2008 Sen. Kennedy resting comfortably at Boston hospital

(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - Senator Edward M. Kennedy is hospitalized at Massachusetts General Hospital, after what doctors believe were two seizures. Kennedy apparently suffered a seizure Saturday morning at his home in Hyannisport, and then a second while he was being transported by helicopter from Cape Cod Hospital to Boston, according to an official briefed on the situation.
Initial reports suspected Senator Kennedy suffered stroke like-symptoms, however now a spokeswoman says it appears it was a seizure. Stephanie Cutter says, "Senator Kennedy is resting comfortably, and it is unlikely we will know anything more for the next 48 hours".
Massachusetts Senator John Kerry visited the senior Senator for about 40 minutes, and released a statement saying Kennedy has "been a fighter who has overcome adversity again and again with courage, grit, and determination. Teresa and I are praying for Kennedy's family."
