Vermont considers legalizing same-sex marriage


(Anya Huneke, NECN: Montpelier, Vermont) - Vermont was the first state to legalize civil unions for gay couples and now it is weighing the issue of same-sex marriage. A special state commission is out with its report.

The Vermont Commission on Family Recognition and Protection was formed last summer. For the past 8 months, members have been traveling around the state listening to Vermonters in an effort to gauge whether residents are ready to move toward same-sex marriage.
