Who's on First: Obama reacts to Palin selection

(NECN) - It was the most-watched convention speech ever, and a bigger hit than the finale of "American Idol". It cast a glow around the Obama-Biden White House ticket.

However it took just ten hours for John McCain to change the subject.

Republicans will convene in St. Paul, Minnesota next week for their nominating convention. The party will make history, where for the first time ever, the GOP Vice President nominee will be a woman.

Her name is Sarah Palin and she is a first term Governor of Alaska. At noon on Friday, she and John McCain shocked the political experts.

R.D. Sahl hosts this edition of Newsnight. To discuss McCain's selection are; Holly Robichaud, political consultant and "The lone Republican" in the weekly political blog of the Boston Herald, Sheila Capone-Wulsin, Executive Director of the Massachusetts political caucus and David Paleologos, director of the political research center at Suffolk University in Boston.
