(NECN) - Low-carb diets are chipping away at potato profits in Maine. Last year Maine produced almost 900,000 tons of potatoes, making it the sixth largest spud grower in the nation. That number could increase if a new state consortium is successful in its attempt to make bioplastics.
Mass High Tech reporter Efrain Viscarolasaga explains the plastic-potato connection.
