(NECN) - Applied Biosystems, part of the Applera Corporation, has sequenced charged a humane genome for $60,000.
Important because it shows the way toward cheaper genome sequencing, and that has consequences for researching and treating diseases.
The work was done with Applied Biosystem Technology, developed in Beverly, Mass.
Dr.Kevin McKernan, Senior Director of Scientific Operations and co-inventor of the "solid system," joins NECN's RD Sahl.
