| June 12, 2008 Mass. Senate votes in favor of life science bill
|
(NECN) - The life sciences bill cleared the Massachusetts state senate and is headed to Governor Deval Patrick. Boston Chamber of Commerce Presdient Paul Guzzi discusses the 10-year one billion dollar initiative.
He says the bill is important because it will not only generate money for the commonwealth, but sends a message to the industry, that Massachusetts is serious about keeping and attracting life sciences.
The bill is a cornerstone of Patrick's economic strategy. He hopes it will lure biotechnology companies to the state, creating high-paying, quality jobs while keeping key scientists and researchers at state institutions.
