(NECN: Lauren Collins, Nashua, NH) - There is a new, free way to surf the Web in Nashua, New Hampshire. The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce is working to bring free Wi-Fi to the downtown area.
It is a joint venture with Fairpoint Communications and First Hampshire Bank, financed for three years to offer free wireless access across downtown.
Local shops have volunteered their space to host DSL antennas and wireless routers to create a mesh network that provides full, uninterrupted signal service from the northern most to southern most points of the heart of the city.
To log on, anyone with a laptop can go into the Chamber offices or a downtown shop and pick up a password, a step that allows the Chamber to track access to the service.
