| June 6, 2008 Purchasing the right digital camera
|
(Scot Yount, NECN) - We've come a long way in a very few short years. Digital cameras have never been better cheaper and more rugged.
But there are a few things you should know before heading out to buy one.
It has never been easier to bring home great family photos....vacations and silliness preserved forever.
At Best Buy...the photo team prides itself on covering the whole range....from just above a hundred bucks to thousands.
“We have a lot of people direction to the point and shoot for the summer.”
And the point and shoots have never been better.....they take great pictures and some like these Olympus models come in a ton of colors and even work up to ten feet underwater.
So which one is for you? Start with that vexing question...."how many mega pixels do i need"
I tell them you don't have to spend a lot of money...you do not need a large mega pixel.
The next level....in the 300 dollar range is the sub slr.....which by the way means single lens reflex....suffice it to say the only thing you get above the point and shoots is a great zoom for far away shots.
Above that...if you are going for broke...and want the best pix possible...go slr.
If you are wanting to get sports pix of your kids....family...holiday...not get a better picture than an slr camera.
Once of course you take all those digital photos...what to do with them....we'll take a look at photo editing software and all those great hosting
