(Latoyia Edwards, NECN: Boston, Mass.) - The Boston Celtics victory over the Los Angeles Lakers sparked celebrations across New England overnight. That has died down a bit, but now fans are looking ahead to a parade later this week.
The Celtics grabbed their first NBA title since 1986 with a dominant 131-92 win over the Lakers in Game 6.
For the most part fans were well behaved during after the game around the Garden. However, Boston Police are reporting that 14 people were arrested in connection with the celebrations. Several windows were damaged in the vicinity of the arena.
A department spokesman says that most of the arrests were for disorderly conduct.
Although exact plans are not confirmed, a parade will most likely begin around 11 a.m. Thursday.
