| November 19, 2008 Giardi: 'Didn't get enough' in Crisp trade
|
(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - NECN sports anchor Mike Giardi says the Boston Red Sox "didn't get nearly enough" in today's Coco Crisp trade.
The Boston Red Sox traded outfielder Coco Crisp to the Kansas City Royals for reliever Ramon Ramirez.
A baseball official confirmed the trade to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
The trade frees up some money for Boston. Crisp is owed $5.75 million next season, with an $8 million club option for 2010 or a $500,000 buyout.
He started 98 games last season while sharing the center field job with Jacoby Ellsbury.
Ramirez is a 27-year-old right-hander who had a 2.64 ERA in 71 2-3 innings last season.
NECN sports anchors Chris Collins and Mike Giardi take a closer look at the trade in this Face-Off.
