| December 3, 2008 Is Rosevelt Colvin ready to come back?
|
(NECN) - With the outside linebacking core getting thinner by the minute, the Patriots welcomed an old friend back into the locker room Wednesday, Rosevelt Colvin.
Colvin had spent the previous five seasons with the Pats before getting cut this offseason. Colvin is making it seem like he was pretty content to be retired, so why come back?
NECN's Mike Giardi and Chris Collins discuss whether the veteran will be ready to play.
Mike says that although Colvin might not be in the best shape to play professional football, he doesn't think the Pats had any other choice. With Adalius Thomas, Eric Alexander and Pierre Woods all sidelined with injuries, the move was needed, and Colvin knows the Pats system.
Collins says he does not see Colvin playing any serious time on game days. He thinks that he might be best served as a player-coach on the practice squad.
