(NECN: Chris Collins) - The New England Patriots did everything they could to secure a playoff spot, but it still wasn't enough this year. The Pats beat the Bills 13-0 yesterday to finish the regular season at 11-5, but they needed either the Dolphins or the Ravens to lose -- and neither team complied.
The Patriots are out of the playoffs for the first time in six years. The Pats are the first 11-5 team to miss the playoffs since 1985.
Meanwhile, reports indicate the possibility that injured Tom Brady might need additional surgery to his ACL and MCL. He injured the tendons in his knee just 15 plays into the first quarter of the first game of the year. However, there are also conflicting reports that say Brady's rehab is in fact ahead of schedule.
