Bruins take it off the top for charity

(NECN: Boston) - They're on top of their game. They're on top of the standings. And they're all tightening up their helmets a little as they head into the playoffs.

About a dozen members of the Boston Bruins took part in the 'Cuts for a Cause' charity event this afternoon in Boston to benefit the Mass General Hospital for Children's Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Clinic.

Defenseman Adam Ward helped organize the event, saying giving up a lot of hair (and a little blood) was the least they could do for kids who are going through the fight against cancer. Four Mass General Hospital for Children cancer patients were on stage "assisting" with the cuts.
