| November 2, 2009 Andruzzi holds fundraiser to beat cancer

(NECN: Foxborough, Mass.) - Former New England Patriots offensive lineman Joe Andruzzi held his second annual New England Celebrities Tackle Cancer event in Foxborough on Monday night.
The goal of his foundation is to provide assistance to cancer institutes, patients and caregivers to help ease the burden cancer treatment places on lives. Since its inception, more than $300,000 has been raised.
"It's unbelievable. You can tell, myself, and just cancer alone how it's touching people's lives and it's getting worse and worse," Andruzzi said. "We're looking for that ultimate goal, which is a cure."
Andruzzi himself is a cancer survivor. He rode in the Pan Mass Challenge this year. The event raises funds for cancer research.
