November 2, 2009 Report: Rajon Rondo staying in Boston

(NECN) - It looks like Rajon Rondo will be staying in Boston for a little while.

Yahoo Sports is reporting the Celtics have reached an agreement in principle for a 5-year contract extension worth $55-million.

He played for two years at Kentucky before declaring for the 2006 NBA Draft and is represented by agent Bill Duffy.

Rondo helped lead the Celtics to its 17th Championship in 2007-2008.

Rajon is averaging 11.8 assists through the first 4 games on the 2009-2010 season.
