| September 15, 2008 Brock: Cassel's confidence was key to victory over Jets
|
(NECN) - It may be hard to believe but many people thought the Patriots didn't have a chance Week two against the New York Jets and Brett Favre. However they proved that for at least one contest, no Brady, no problem.
Matt Cassel got a victory in his first career NFL start, leading the Patriots to a 19-10 victory over New York. Former Patriots offensive lineman Pete Brock joins Mike Giardi on this segment of Prospective, to take a look at Cassel's first start.
Pete says that Cassel's performance was Brady-esque from 2001. He gives kudos to the offensive line for protection, the running backs and the running game for keeping the ball moving. He says Favre and the Jets had to try and create the big play, and ended up making a mistakes. However, the Patriots offense was always moving down field, giving Cassel more options.
