| August 30, 2008 Brock: Not surprised Patriots kept Cassel
|
(NECN) - Former Patriots lineman Pete Brock joins Mike Giardi to discuss the cuts the Patriots made.
The Patriots opted to keep quarterback Matt Cassel as Tom Brady's backup. Quarterback Matt Gutierrez was released. Many believed Cassel's future with the team was in jeopardy, after he failed to lead the Patriots to a touchdown in 17 series during their 0-4 exhibition season.
Brock says he is not surprised the team kept Matt Cassel, because he is the second best quarterback in practices. Also, Cassel has essentially been coached by Tom Brady, and has experience in the Patriots system.
