(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - The Boston Celtics are enjoying the day off after getting their quest for a spot in the NBA Finals off to a rousing start with a 88-79 win over the Detroit Pistons Tuesday night.
Kevin Garnett led the way with 26 points and nine rebounds, while Paul Pierce scored 22 points in the Celtics' 15th straight home win.
Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals is in Boston Thursday night.
