(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - Boston Red Sox lefty Jon Lester talks after pitching a no-hitter against the Kansas City Royals Monday night.
Lester had never thrown a major league game complete before.
Boston's previous no-hitter was 8.5 months ago, when Clay Buchholz achieved one in a 10-0 win over Baltimore.
The Royals have been no-hit just one other time by Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan on May 15th, 1973.
