(NECN) - As Manny Ramirez world turns, we find out new developments in the departure of former Red Sox slugger .
The Globe's Gordon Edes has uncovered that he lobbied to remain in Boston after learning that he had been traded to the Dodgers.
His agent stated that his client would behave the rest of the season if they didn't pick up his 2009 contract option.
Red Sox responded with a "thanks, but no thanks."
