Packers fans hold 'Bring Brett Back' rally

(NECN/ABC) - The Brett Favre soap opera continues in Green Bay. More than 100 fans rallied at Lambeau Field on Sunday, one day after the Packers said they would not grant an unconditional release to the retired legendary quarterback.

Organizers of the event want to change the team's mind. They're calling for Favre to return as the starting quarterback. Many of the fans wore number four jerseys and chanted "Bring Brett Back." Favre announced the end of his N-F-L career in March but recent reports have indicated that he wants to play again.

On Saturday, Favre asked the Packers to grant him his release so he could be allowed to join another team. His request was denied.

The Packers also said if he wanted to rejoin the team he'd be a backup, not a starter.

Another fan rally is planned for Milwaukee on Monday night. Organizers say they'll return to Lambeau Field every Sunday until Favre is once again the Packers' starting QB.
