| October 22, 2008 Patriots players speak out on loss of Harrison
|
(NECN) - The Patriots placed Rodney Harrison on the injured reserve Wednesday, after he tore a thigh muscle in Monday night's game against the Denver Broncos. The 35-year-old's season - and possibly his career is over due to the injury. Harrison is in the final year of his contract.
Several Patriots players were emotional about the loss of the 15-year veteran. Cornerback Ellis Hobbs says Harrison was a loyal and dedicated player, and "he played the game the way all of us should play the game."
Mike Vrabel says that you simply can't replace someone like Harrison. "It's a big blow. I think that what he brings weekly and every day to this locker room, and this team, he'll be missed. You can't replace him. You can't go out and find someone. There is nobody out there like that."
