(NECN) - Michael Phelps coasted to his 6th Gold medal in these Beijing Summer Games, earning yet another gold record -- this time in the 200m Individual Medley. Phelps has two more races left to beat Mark Spitz's record of 7 Gold medals in a single Olympiad.
USA's Nastia Liukin edged out teammate and reigning world champion Shawn Johnson for the women's all-around gymnastics Gold. Liukin's father was an Olympic champion back in his days living in the Soviet Union.
This lessens the sting felt from the disappointing finish to Team USA's Gold medal hopes in the Team Final loss to China.
