(NECN/ABC) - President Bush visited the US Softball team in China, as they continue on their path toward another Gold medal. Team USA is the heavy favorite to win the Gold medal in the 2008 Summer Games, again. Before these Beijing Olympics even started, the International Olympic Committee announced that baseball and softball would no longer be part of the Games after Beijing. International competition for many is the top of the line in the sport of softball, but weak competition from other nation's has led the IOC to consider it not much of a competition at all -- Team USA is consistently the favorite to take home the Gold. USA Softball has been pushing for the sport to remain in the Games, and President Bush showed his support by saying, "It's good for the world for girls to play softball."
