(NECN: Baltimore, MD) - The Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-3 Monday night at Camden Yards in Maryland.
Newcomber Jason Bay scored two home runs for the Sox. Jason Varitek also homered for Boston.
Meanwhile, Jon Lester continued his breakout season by stifling the Orioles over his seven innings of work.
The second game of the three-game series will take place tomorrow. Game time: 7:05 p.m.
The Sox lead the AL wild card race.
