(NECN) - The Boston Red Sox got eight innings of two-hit baseball, and Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz hit back-to-back homers as the Boston Red Sox beat the Detroit Tigers, 5-0.

The win was Boston's fifth straight, and seventh in the last eight games.

Wakefield allowed only a single in the first inning to Carlos Guillen and a double by Ivan Rodriguez in the eighth.

The Sox took a 3-0 lead in the second on an RBI single from J.D. Drew, a run-scoring double by Kevin Cash, and a groundout by Coco Crisp.

The Sox send Clay Buchholz to the mound tomorrow night in game 3 of the four-game set.
