| February 29, 2008 Tedy Bruschi returning to the Patriots

BOSTON (AP) - Veteran linebacker Tedy Bruschi, who recovered
from a stroke in 2005 and later resumed his career, has agreed to a
multiyear contract with the Patriots.
A person within the league, speaking Thursday night on condition
of anonymity, said the deal is expected to be signed Friday.
Bruschi started every game this past season. But it was
uncertain if the 34-year-old Bruschi would return after the
Patriots lost to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl.
Patriots spokesman Stacey James said the team does not confirm
contracts until they are signed.
Ten days after helping New England win the 2005 Super Bowl,
Bruschi was hospitalized by a minor stroke. But after having
surgery to repair a hole in his heart, he vigorously began an
improbable comeback.
