Togo Palazzi is rooting on the Green

(NECN: Katie Daly, Worcester, Mass.) - A Celtics legend will be rooting on the Green tonight. Togo Palazzi was in Worcester on Thursday. He won a title with the Celtics back in the 50s and he knows what it takes to win it all.

He's considered a legend on the basketball courts of Holy Cross. Palazzi had an outstanding career on the Crusader basketball team in the 50s, breaking Holy Cross records and still ranks second in career rebounds.

In 1954, skills caught the eye of Celtics owner Walter Brown. The Green drafted him in the first round, adding to the Crusader-Celtic connection, which includes basketball greats like Bob Cousy and Tommy Heinsohn.

Palazzi spent what he calls three exciting seasons with the Celtics before going to the Syracuse Nationals.

Palazzi predicts the Celtics will take it in six, but win or lose, basketball has taught Palazzi lessons he's carried through his entire life.
