(NECN: Foxboro, Mass.) - New England Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork says he's looking to put the past behind him - and that includes both the Patriots' Super Bowl loss in the Super Bowl, and the perception that he is a dirty player in the NFL.
"I think sometimes people look at me and say, 'Oh, he’s such a dirty player, blah, blah.' I’m not. I love what I do," Wilfork told reporters at today's pre-draft Patriots press conference.
"There are a lot of things that I can get better at - that’s why you have the offseason. I’m looking forward to going forward with all of this. Hopefully, this year, no more fines."
Wilfork was also promoting his annual draft day party to raise money for diabetes research. Wilfork has seen family members struggle with diabetes, and knows first-hand how it can affect a family's life. Tickets for the fundraiser are available at his website, vincewilfork75.com
