| September 6, 2008 Hanna arrives in New England, brings heavy rains
|
(NECN: Joe Joyce) - NECN meteorologist Joe Joyce tells us that Tropical Storm Hanna is moving across Southern New England as we advance into the nighttime hours - roughly from New London, CT, to Quincy, MA - with Tropical Storm force winds south and east of the track, including the South Coast, Cape and Islands, and redeveloping rain in especially Central and Southern New England.
Expect Lows in the 60s most areas.
A Southeast wind at 15-25 mph will be felt with gusts to 40 mph inland, 20-40 mph with gusts to 50+ at Southern coastal locales, becoming south, then west late.
Rainfall amounts of 3" to 6" will cause urban flooding inland.
