(NECN) - Hurricane Ike is getting closer to the southern United States.
The Category 4 storm is currently heading for eastern Cuba.
Ike struck the Turks and Caicos Islands on Sunday morning as well as the Bahamas.
80% of the homes on Grand Turk were damaged.
In Haiti, rainfall is worsening damage caused by Hurricane Hanna.
The Florida Keys are preparing for the possibility Ike will strike.
Residents began evacuating on Sunday morning.
Some are refusing to leave, but most are joining tourists who evacuated on Saturday.
Hurricane Ike currently has wind speeds near 135 mph.
