Nagin: "Looters will go directly to jail"

(NECN/ABC) - Mayor Ray Nagin on Sunday gave an update on Hurricane Gustav.

He is warning that looting will not be tolerated in the city of New Orleans.

The city has imposed a dawn to dusk curfew that was to begin Sunday at sunset.

"Looters will go directly to jail. You will not get a pass this time," he said. "You will not have a temporary stay in the city. You will go directly to the Big House."

Gustav has dropped from a Category 4 to a Category 3 storm overnight, but forecasters warn it could gain strength before making landfall on Monday.
