(Joe Joyce, NECN) - Severe storms spawned more deadly tornadoes through the Midwest on Saturday. Winds strong enough to level homes, uproot trees, flip cars and destroy anything in their paths.
Over 36 tornadoes moved through Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Quick violent storms moving at 50 MPH gave people little time chance to run for cover.
Tragically 19 people died from these storms and the death toll could continue to climb as they sort through debris.
This tornado season is one of the most active in the past 50 years. A record pace with close to 800 tornadoes since January, which is double the amount we should have by now.
