(NECN) - White-out conditions and relentless heavy snow made turnpike travel in Maine treacherous Monday.
Conditions worsened as the day went on and snow accumulated.
From morning rush hour on, police travelled from one stranded car off the road to the next.
Most drivers just needed a good shovel and maybe a tow to get them back on course.
