| November 19, 2008 Iran nuclear weapon probe deadlocked
|
VIENNA, Austria (AP) - The U.N. nuclear watchdog agency says its
probe into Iran's alleged nuclear weapons program is deadlocked. It
also reports that a Syrian site bombed by Israel had the
characteristics of a nuclear reactor.
The conclusions are contained in twin reports presented
Wednesday by the International Atomic Energy Agency. Obtained by
The Associated Press, the confidential documents are being shared
with the 35 nations on the IAEA board. The Iran report also goes to
the U.N. Security Council.
On Iran, the agency also notes Tehran continues expanding its
uranium enrichment program in defiance of three sets of Security
Council sanctions.
