Israeli forces remain focused on Hamas militants

(NECN/ABC) - Israeli forces remain firmly focused on Hamas militant targets in Gaza Tuesday morning.

The fighting shows no signs of letting up, amid increasingly loud international calls for a ceasefire.

For the first time Israeli tanks moved into the southern Gaza town Khan Younis.

22 Palestinians were killed overnight.

The Palestinian death toll now stands at 572 with nearly 3000 injured many of them women and children.
