| May 12, 2009 Holy Cross dancers to perform in Bali

(NECN: Katie Daly, Worcester, Mass.) - A group of students at Holy Cross are preparing for one of their biggest performances. They are the only artists from the United State invited to perform in the 2009 Bali Arts Festival next month.
Katie Haltgren is one of the students that will be performing in the show "Mimpi" meaning dream. The production was composed by their theatre professor Lynn Kremer.
Committee members from the Bali Arts Center made the decision in 2004 to bring the group of Holy Cross students to their stage. Kremer believes they were chosen because their performance is a blend of American and Balinese culture.
The students have been studying under a renowned Balinese dancer. He came to Holy Cross last semester and has been teaching students what he calls the drama of Balinese dancing.
Some students now see dance as way to tell a story.
