| November 3, 2009 Afghan President reaching out to his opponents
|
(NECN/ABC) - Fresh off his re-election victory, Afghan President Hamid Karzai is reaching out to his opponents.
With this promise to root out corruption, he also offered a conciliatory note to his defeated opponent - Dr Abdullah Abdullah, to work together, calling all people from all parts of the country to be included in his government.
But President Karzai faces a huge challenge while he has managed to cling on to power in Afghanistan.
He faces sharp international criticism of the way his party has conducted itself throughout the elections.
ABC News reporter Sonia Gallego is in London with more on what President Karzai had to say
