| May 20, 2008 3 day mourning period observed in Myanmar

(NECN) - Myanmar formerly known as Burma is observing a three day period of mourning for victims of that massive cylcone. The national flag is flying at half staff Tuesday.
Meantime, the country's military rulers have agreed to let in medical teams for neighboring countries.
The association of Southeast Asian nations has also been given some oversight of foreign aid distribution.
The move comes after weeks of international pressure to allow more aid to cyclone victims.
The death toll in Myanmar now stands at 78,000. The government says another 55,000 people still missing.
