(Lauren Collins, NECN: Boston, Mass.) - The Burmese community in New England is doing all they can to send relief to cyclone victims. Spoonful by spoonful Bostonians reached out to help those devastated by the Myanmar cyclone. On Saturday afternoon, hundreds turned out to Yoma restaurant in Boston's Allston neighborhood to eat some good food, and while helping those affected.
Sai Kyaw who owns the restaurant, moved to the United States in 1988. He says he is very thankful for the overwhelmingly support they have received.
The fundraiser brought in more than $6,000 Saturday, and will go directly to organizations providing relief.
NECN's Lauren Collins has more.
