(NECN: Wenchuan, China) - Dramatic video shot just ten minutes after the devastating earthquake that hit China last week, in the epicenter of Wenchuan, was acquired by AP Television on Tuesday.
The footage, taken by Wenchuan TV camera crews, captures the sheer terror and panic gripping people as they run in streets freshly littered with rubble from buildings and destroyed cars.
A fog of dense dust hangs in the air.
A mother clutches her baby closely.
Soldiers are seen carrying the body of a victim.
Shaken doctors prepare to treat the injured in an open air ward.
Li Shun, a Wenchuan TV cameraman who shot much of the footage, told AP Television, "It was very dark at that moment and everyone is in panic then. I can see they are panicking from their facial expressions. People just gathered together, having no idea of what to do."
A trail of people evacuating are seen walking in the mountains, apparently fearing possible flooding in the destroyed town below.
